We cover all of Kitchener, including:
Kitchener mixes century homes, post-war bungalows, new subdivisions and a fast-growing number of apartment and condo towers. Each one gets its own pest problems.
Mice and rats. Mice are the most common call we get from October to March. Older homes around downtown, Cherry Hill and Rockway have stone or block foundations with gaps around pipes and vents, and a mouse needs a hole about the size of a dime. Newer homes in Huron Park and Doon get mice through garage door seals, utility lines and weep holes. Rats show up near the Grand River, along rail lines and around restaurants and garbage storage. See rodent control.
Ants and carpenter ants. Pavement ants come up through basement slabs and patio stones in spring. Carpenter ants are the bigger worry in neighbourhoods with mature trees, such as Forest Hill, Stanley Park and Victoria Park, where they nest in damp wood around decks, windows and rooflines. See ant control.
Wasps and hornets. Yellowjackets nest in soffits, wall voids and the ground. Bald-faced hornets hang paper nests in trees and hedges. Both get more aggressive in late August and September, just as people spend more time outside. See wasp nest removal and hornet nest removal.
Bed bugs. Bed bugs travel with people, so they turn up in apartments, rooming houses, student rentals and single-family homes alike. They don’t mean a home is dirty. Region of Waterloo Public Health advises tenants and landlords to act quickly and work together, because bed bugs spread between units. See bed bug extermination.
Cockroaches. German cockroaches are almost always an indoor, multi-unit problem in Kitchener: kitchens and bathrooms in apartment buildings, restaurants and shared housing. See cockroach extermination.
Spiders, fleas and other insects. Spiders build up around porch lights and basements in late summer. Fleas come home with pets or with a move into a home where pets lived. Centipedes, earwigs and cluster flies round out the list. See spider control, flea extermination and fly control.
Store-bought traps and sprays work for a single mouse or a small ant trail. Call a professional when:

Kitchener’s restaurants, offices, shops and rental buildings need a contractor who works around them. We provide commercial pest control for restaurants and food businesses, offices, retail stores, property managers and multi-unit residential buildings. Visits are scheduled during business hours, Monday to Friday, and we’ll work with your staff, tenants and superintendent.
Yes. We serve every Kitchener neighbourhood, including downtown, Victoria Park, Cherry Hill, Forest Heights, Doon, Pioneer Park, Huron Park, Williamsburg, Country Hills, Stanley Park, Chicopee, Grand River North and Bridgeport. We also cover Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph. Call 519-957-1766 if you want to check your address.
It depends on the season and the schedule that week. Wasp season and the first cold snap in fall are our busiest times. Call us Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. and we’ll give you the earliest appointment we have and tell you what to do in the meantime.
Typical ranges before HST are from about $200 for a wasp nest, about $300 to $430 for ants, about $280 to $550 for mice, about $500 for fleas, from about $800 for cockroaches and about $1,000 to $1,400 or more for bed bugs. Your technician confirms the price before any work starts.
Mice move indoors when nights drop toward freezing, usually in October. Older Kitchener homes have stone or block foundations with gaps, and newer homes have utility lines and garage seals that mice squeeze through. Sealing the ground-level gaps and placing bait stations along their runways is what stops the cycle.
Yes. We treat single units and whole buildings for landlords, property managers and tenants. Bed bugs and cockroaches spread between units, so the best results come when neighbouring units are inspected too. For multi-unit buildings, an inspection is required for an exact quote, and we can schedule around tenants.
Yes, when the instructions are followed. We use Health Canada-registered products and apply them where pests live, in cracks, voids, locked bait stations and around the outside of the house. Your technician tells you how to prepare, which areas to avoid and for how long, and what to do with pets and fish tanks.
Call 519-957-1766 and tell us what you’re seeing. Estimates over the phone are free, and an inspection is required for an exact quote on larger jobs. The office is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; leave a message after hours and we’ll call you back the next business day.
